ILAM White Flag Award 2010 / 2011
Last Thursday night was a huge occassion for the team at ALSAA when we were presented with the 2010/2011 White Flag Award. This award is given by ILAM ( see www.ilam.ie ) and is a quality standard for swimming pools, gyms, fitness studios, sports hall & grounds!
The achievement of the White Flag Award was the culmination of 9 months of hard work by the ALSAA team. Led by White Flag Coordinator Mark White, we have gone through rigorous assessment of many factors such as water quality, hygiene, customer service, services offered, health & safety, staff training, improvement and development plans, membership & sales, first aid and much more.
After completing the entry form, we had until June to put our plan into action which was then audited by an independently appointed assessor. This involved an entire day with the auditor going through our operational plan with a fine tooth comb! We checked water results, sales figures, looked at our vision for the future and walked both ALSAA sites thoroughly.
So what does this mean for you as a member? It means that ALSAA, management and staff, are committed to providing you the very best service we can. We are committed to offering you a facility that we are proud to work in and we have made a committment to our governing body to maintain these standards going forward! In fact, we can expect to undergo a "surprise" audit in the coming months to check that we are doing just that!
