Aer Lingus Swim Club Crowned Champions in Switzerland

Aer Lingus Swimming Club recently participated in the 5th annual EU Swim Meet. Red Fish Swimming Club of Neuchatel, Switzerland hosted the event.
A team of 35 swimmers, ranging in ages from 10 to 24 years travelled with a back up team of 4 officials. Two extremely successful days of competing took place, with numerous medals being won by the club.
Overall the team performance was exceptional, with the 'Men/Boys@ team taking the overall club rpize and collecting 23 medals along the way. The Women/Girls team was narrowly pipped for the overall title, missing out be a mere 7 points. Not too disappointed, they still walked away with 28 medals!
The strength of the club came to the fore in the relays. Not only did the girls win the 13-14 and 15-16 age group relays, they also set new meet records in both the freestyle and medley events.
Catrina English and Conor Turner both set individual records in 100m breast and 200m free events.
A tired but jubilant team arrived home to Dublin Airport greeted by a fantastic welcome. The club are now looking forward to next year’s competition, which is being held in Hungary.
