ALSAA boasts a comprehensive gym with the most motivated and driven fitness instructors. Our top of the range cardiovascular equipment, built in touch screen TV’s cover a huge variety of exercises certain to meet all your needs. Treadmills, exercise bikes, rowing machines, steppers, cross trainers and stair mills are available to all members.
Our weights room includes a full body circuit of resistance machines suitable for all level of exercisers. There is also a dedicated free weights area for those who are looking for a more defined work out.
Also available to gym users is the indoor running track. This 150 metre elevated running track brings ALSAA right into the 21st century and is open during all gym opening hours and is popular across a wide cross section of members for both walking and running.
The gym is open from 6.30am to 10pm Monday to Friday and from 9am to 6pm Saturday and Sunday.
Fitness Assessments and Personal Exercise Programs
To get you started on the right track, we encourage all our gym users to avail of our free Fitness Assessments. This will take approximately one hour and during this time one of our fitness instructors will chat to you about your exercise history, what you enjoy doing, what your goals are and will also assess various aspects of your fitness. From this they will then draw up an exercise program designed specifically to you and around your needs! We would then encourage you to get assessed every 8-10 weeks so that we can progress your program and so that you can set new goals! By doing this, you are certain to achieve results!
ALSAA insists on using only the best fitness instructors for fitness classes. A range of classes including spinning, aqua fit, step aerobics, body pump, abs attack, step & tone and body conditioning are all available throughout the week. Also now on is ALSAA Boot Camp! Click here for more info!
All classes are open to members and non members and take place in the sports hall, the main pool, the water suite or the spinning studio. ALSAA has a huge variety of exercise equipment on hand for all classes.
ALSAA also has the only dedicated 40 minute fitness suite in North Dublin. Located on the top floor of the complex is the renowned Fitness Suite. The fitness suite is designed to give you a total body workout in 40 minutes and is proven to work. It is based on a full circuit of toning exercise, combined with calorie burning cardio exercise to get the muscles moving. Fitness classes take place 4 times daily, at regular intervals and are open to members and non-members.
